About Cs chapter of Sb cet
IEEE Computer Society CET Chapter was initiated in July 2012. During its relatively short span of operation, the chapter was able to achieve a lot of success on many fronts. Student members have represented the chapter in many international conferences such as the IEEE Global Humanitarian Conference, World Congress on Computer & Information Technologies, Advances in Computing and Computer Applications etc.
They have repeatedly won laurels in many conferences such as Student Paper Competition, GHTC 2013 & 2012, Young Professional Project competition, etc.
The Chapter regularly conducts events aiming to bridge the gap between academia and the industry, through technical talks and workshops. The chapter has given ample focus in developing the programming skills of members by conducting various coding competitions and hackathons. Some of its recent activities include Android workshop, Web development workshop, Machine Learning series, GIT and Version Control session, etc. All the sessions were done as practical ones which followed code-to-learn strategy rather than listening. Project sessions were conducted in the SB which focused on taking up a theme from a set of topics and building a project on that theme. The themes included computer vision, web scraping , data analysis etc. We are one among the active student chapters in the country and 5 of our members have won the IEEE CS Richard E. Merwin Student Leadership Scholarship in the past 2 years.
