The Signal Processing Society which began its activities in 1948,was IEEE’s first society. Its deeply rooted history spans almost 70 years, featuring a membership base of more than 19,000 deeply interested and involved signal processing engineers, academics, industry professionals and students who are all part of a dynamic global community – spanning 100 countries worldwide.
The IEEE SPS Chapter in our student branch was flagged off this year(2017) during the Annual General Body Meet. Signal Processing is indeed a vast domain with several aspects and dimensions to it. At the heart of our modern world, powering today’s entertainment and tomorrow’s technology,it is the intersection of biotechnology and social interactions-the science behind our digital lives.
At the CET SPS Chapter,we aim to foster an interest in students to attempt the unattempted, to think up and implement new designs and hone the technophile in everyone. With this in mind,we have planned a series of workshops and sessions with some of them culminating in competitions based on the newly learnt topics.
The first session conducted by the chapter was a workshop on ARM processors.Currently there is an ongoing evening session series on MATLAB.Several other events are also being planned.
